In this episode of “Give an Ovation”, Ovation CEO Zack Oates talks with chef and CEO of Restaurant Systems Pro Fred Langley about what restaurants can do to succeed during these hard times. Check out the expert advice Fred Langley gave:
1. Take Operations Outside
You can do a lot curb-side. Bring menus, cashiers, and even cooks out there if you can! Fred has even seen restaurants set up mini-shops outside popular shopping centers like Costco or Sam’s Club.
2. Have Pre-Prepared Options
A lot of restaurants are also offering common grocery store items such as eggs and milk for purchase. Fred explains that as people’s food supplies run thin, and grocery stores have fewer open hours, there will be an influx of people looking for these types of options at restaurants. As as a service to restaurants who need it, Fred and his team created a free web-page that anyone can implement on their site to get online ordering options up and running! 3. Share How You’re Staying Safe
Restaurants would be wise to post pictures of their employees wearing masks, gloves and demonstrating their company’s commitment to sanitation. By doing so, you can show your customers that you aren’t just out there to make a profit, but that you really care about the community.
4. Stay Positive
What’s the biggest challenge facing restaurant owners right now? Fred would say a “defeated mindset.” While COVID-19 can be discouraging, if owners can turn their energies outward they will be able to do so much good!
