If you’re reading this, we probably don’t have to tell you that restaurateurs are really busy. Between managing finances, staff, the food, etc… yeah. It can be hard to find the time to focus on marketing and advertising. Luckily, Joe Mediate came on this edition of Give An Ovation to share some super practical tips to make your job easier:

1. Meet Customers Where They’re At

It’s not just about communicating, it’s about reaching your customers in the way they want.  Email used to be the meat of a marketing strategy, but now it’s probably best as a small ingredient in your recipe due to low open and click rates. Today people are on social media, their phones, and streaming services. “Shouldn’t we talk to them there?” Joe asked.

2. Mobile ID Isn’t Big Brother

Joe and the Webociti team developed Mobile ID, a tool that can track those who come into your restaurant using a digital geo-fence. Then can then use this data to target specific groups when advertising, like sending a blast to people who come every Friday.

Mobile ID still respects consumer privacy, too. Customers can opt out, or simply turn location services off. Ultimately, most people enjoy receiving ads that are relevant to them.

3. More Data = More Revenue (When Used Well)

Gaining data leads to a win-win situation: restaurants can spend their advertising budget in effective and specific ways, and consumers receive more offers they’re interested in.

4. “Think Pooh Bear, Think…”

There are a lot of ways to work smarter and not harder. Does your website have pictures of your restaurant’s interior? People care about the atmosphere of a restaurant. Have you tracked who has continued to visit you despite COVID-19? There’s a loyal fan base. Do you need help from an outside source, like Webociti? You get the idea.
